Shredding Playlists

Trying to get a kickin' playlist sorted for the season ahead of us and thought I'd see what others are going to be rockin' to this season.

You guys setup a playlist that requires no "skip track" action?

Oldskool, hiphop, alternate, dance, drums, even opera.... whatever. As a rule tunes usually sound better on the slopes

Yeah I usually have ALL my music on my iPod (~18GB's worth!), but I setup playlists just for when I'm boarding and don't want crap to come on.

Although, I keep my ipod in this front sort of pocket, so I can press skip through my jacket if I need to...

As far as tunes go, anything "rock" that gets a bit heavier is the way to go. 30 Seconds to Mars is a good example. Things like Jack Johnson tend to put me to sleep. I also setup a few club/house playlists with the latest Ministry sort of albums (Sessions Five, Mash Up Mix 2008 etc..). They can get you pretty pumped up too.

NOFX.. nice.. I just got all the Pennywise albums... thats definitely going on my list, along with some rage, tool, muse, and maybe some ministry/hardstyle for a change of pace

Sweet... thanks dudes. I've already started a list, just need to consolidate it a bit more. Think i've gone too oldskool with Blink and shiz like that.

Keep the idea's coming

i usually throw all my fav albums into an On the Go playlist and chuck it on random.. too easy.

current playlist comprises of Anberlin, Antiflag, Blink, Bloc Party, The Darkness, Finch, The Hives, Jimmy Eat World, Killers, Matchbook Romance, Motion City Soundtrack, My Chemical, Panic, Rise Against, TZU, Used, White Stripes, Zebrahead, 30 Seconds to Mars, Atreyu, Pennywise, Classified, Weezer, Chemical Brothers, Jurassic 5... yeh it is kinda big, haha, in fact, the playlist duration is 1.5days...
i also make playlists of tracks from boarding films, so much fun to ride to if the songs remind you of shredding... yess.

+1 to that I have to agree, I've never brought my music out on the snow with me but I imagine these would be pretty good out there:

Story of the Year
Taking Back Sunday
Muse
Linkin Park
Kisschasy
Sum41

Theres loads more but thats just a few

Totally agree, the most suitable songs are always on the films. "EELS-Beautiful Day" is a great example.

Sweet list you have there shep, but i hate skipping tracks :P

possibly one of the biggest eels fans ever, but most of their stuff is too slow for the shredstick...

yeh true i do skip a song now and again, but thats only cos im lazy making playlists...
actually my two favourite songs to ride to atm would have to be MIA - Paper Planes and Metric - Combat Baby... again cos ive heard them in films.
