Forum Or Against Em' - DVD Review

This is a last years DVD release which was available on iTunes for download. It is not available here now but it's available at great snow outlets.

I have recently purchased around 4-5 new DVD just to get me hyped for this season and to see what pros are doing these days. Forum's FOA is just one of those DVD's which make you want to strap on your boots, clip in to your bindings and have a session in your room.

FOA starts with a great use of motion graphics with a mix of introduction for each rider which really stands out from the rest. The voice over is in relation to the rider about there attitude, interests and the frustration they go through when they are pro. Instead of having a slams section which is a bit 98' they have one good slam from some riders which make you cringe, make sure to see Eddie Wall's.

I wouldn't say one riders session is better than another's because they all have peaks and a combination of street, jib, big mountain freestyle & park. But I would say keep an eye out for Peter Line, Jake Blauvelt, Nic Sauve & Travis Kennedy would have to be stand sections for me. FOA has great use of music because they don't stick to one genre through out they go from metal to hip hop to dance which keeps you interested and doesn't tire out your ear drums.

I have seen it for around $80 in stores.

What comes in the box set.

Forum catalog, FOA photo booklet, TWS postcard, sticker sheet, Forum die cut sticker, FOA 4-in-one beanie, FOA patch, FOA keychain, and a huge double-sided FOA poster. Oh yeah, also included is a couple of DVD’s - one containing the feature film and the other with a grip of featured features.

It's well worth the money. So check it out!

More reviews coming!

this is one of my favorites, others on my rainy day list are
Isenseven - Teenage love graffiti 07-08 i think. sick soundtrack, 50/50 street jibbing / airials with some fun intros, euro riders. The sort of movie that makes you want to max out your credit card hunting winter.
Absinthe - Neverland 09'. heaps of powder, back contry tree runs..... makes our snow season look very poor. 80/20 powder / street. has a great scene where they ride through a back alley of a village covered in 4ft of powder with little walk ways carved out of the snow.

Great review.... shame that watching all these movies just teases us for the next couple of months.

I sent away for this (free with my scallywag board) and it came shortly after.

I watched the movie and it was good but like all snowboarding movies, its good in the background or watching for like 10-15 mins and then I get bored. I'd rather be out there shredding :P

The really good parts were the giant forum sticker (Graces the bottom side of my skateboard but would have gone on my snowboard if it wasnt such an awesome graphic... or on my car if I wasn't planning to sell (sold now)) And the beanie. Green and blue is such a rad beanie

Otherwise, its a good movie but I personally wouldn't have paid $50-$80 for it. For free, it was a great deal lol.
