Boardslide (Backside)
Backside Boardslide
1. Before you attempt a boardslide i suggest you practise grinding 50-50's on the same rail. Do this to get the feel for the rail. ie: length, run up to the rail, slipperyness, height and speed to make it onto the rail and come off the end. 2. Head straight at the rail and approach with a steady speed. 3. As soon as you are ready to hit the rail prepare yourself for what you are going to do. When you are at the top of the kicker or jump onto the rail pop a small 90º jump to put you onto boardslide. Note: dont pop to big, you dont want to be slamming down onto the rail but also bigger enough so that you dont clip the front of the rail. 4. When landing onto the rail you should be in a nice flexed knee's steady positon. Body position is crucial for this trick. Make sure that when you land you are slightly leaning forward and bending at the knee's. This prevents you from slipping out backwards. Also dont lean to far forward because you will catch your front edge, just enough to stop you from slipping out. 5. Continue this position throughout the railslide. If you feel yourself sliding off the rail, go with it and dont try and fight your way back onto the rail. 6. Once you are at the end simply slide yourself 90º to correct yourself back to a forward position and land. Video: |
