Hey! As in the title, i'm looking to get my first set of board/boots/bindings. I've been boarding for a few seasons on the rental stuff, but i'm heading to canada at the end of the year for a month or 2 so I want to get a decent setup for that. I've been checking out ebay for boards, but I don't really know much about bindings, and I'm going to head to Balmoral Boards to try lots of boots :)

I'm 6'5" and 85kg with around a size 13 boot, looking for a cheapish freeride/all-mountain board, so far come up from ebay with these 2:

Burton Bullet 164W - $400ish
Option Logic 163W - $300ish

Would either of these be decent, or any other suggestions for boards / bindings?

Cheers!

the bullet is a decent board for the price from what ive heard about it but how the hell are you 6.5' and only weigh 85 kilos haha?

I personally like option boards, but you will have no problems with that Burton board. Sounds about the right size for you, and a very good price if that is in Australian dollars.. No doubt it would be $600+ in stores here...

I'm leaning towards the option board, mainly just 'cause with that price difference, I can spend a bit more on a better set of bindings or boots. Would I be right in thinking there's not much difference in the boards in this low price range?
Also, are the any suggestions for bindings to look at, or at least decent brands to look at (or stay away from!)

Yeah spot on... Firstly, there wouldn't be a huge amount of difference in the 2 boards... Secondly, board would be where I spend the least amount of my money! Always lash out on boots, and then bindings. Cheaper boards are also better because you can thrash them and not worry too much..

As for bindings, it is "preferred" to get the same brand board. But most bindings will fit most boards now, it's not so much of a problem.

I have 2008 Burton Missions on my Option board and I'm really happy with that setup. I use to have Option 604's and the Missions are WAY better. In the 604's defense, they were about 5 years older...

Wrong thread?

Anyways, I ended up with teh Option $250, Rome Arsenals $130, and Size 13 Burton Rulers $350. I never realised how much of a price difference there was between stores and ebay.....though I did buy the boots in store 'cause it's otherwise rather slack to size up in there and buy them on the net :)

Ha ha yeah the ultimate warrior was way off track.
Sounds like a great setup for the coin mate. Hopefully we get some snow soon so we both can try our stuff out. I'm sick of looking at my new board, bindings and boots and wanna get on the mountain bad!
